Authorities of the Nigeria Custom Service (NCS), have shut down the export sections of the warehouses of the two major ground handling companies in Nigeria, Nigeria Aviation Handling Company PLC (NAHCO) and Skyway Aviation Handling Company Ltd (SAHCOL) over alleged warehousing of contraband (donkey skins), allegedly imported by two Chinese.

It was gathered that the Chinese nationals imported the items from Kenya to Nigeria for onward clearance to China as they connived with some Custom officials to import and ware them.

The Travel Port gathered the two Chinese have been arrested while the custom continues its investigation.

Speaking to The Travl Port on the issue, Basil Agboarumi, spokesman for SAHCOL said: It was the export section that was shut, the custom officials still came around today, they said they are investigating, they said they have not concluded their investigations”.

Meanwhile, all efforts to get NAHCO side proved abortive as Bashir Gulma, head of corporate affairs of the company was yet to respond to the text sent to him and calls put through to his number did not go through.
