Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday, visited Arik Air’s head office and quizzed its chairman, Sir Joseph Arumemi-Ikhide.

It was learnt that he was later visited  the commission’s office in Ikoyi for further discussions and to respond to their enquiries.

Ola Banji, Arik Air spokesman said that ‘having satisfactorily answered the query, the Chairman later left the EFCC office’.

It is still unknown why the EFCC officials came for the chairman but some security men besieged the airlines’ office on Wednesday morning, preventing some passengers that were protesting to gain entry  into the office.

They barricaded the entrance to  the airline’s premises, preventing people from going in and or coming out of the premises.

The passengers, who came for refund could not get any as they could not enter the premises.

Many of them alleged that they have been coming to the company for refund since 2016 to no avail, adding that they had besieged the place to protest because there was no response from anybody.
