As part of activities lined up to celebrate Nigeria’s 59th Independence Anniversary, the management of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operators of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) yesterday hosted cultural fiesta at the terminal.

The event was put together to showcase Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage. It was organised with an intention to spread awareness and to further expose the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria.

The fiesta which was well attended by terminal users and other visitors had performances from three different dance troupes / artistes. These groups include FootPrints of David Art Academy, students from the Theatre Art Department of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), VicMob Schools. There were also performances from members of the Nigeria Youth Service Corps (NYSC) cultural group.

Scenes at the fiesta were creatively done to drive home the intended message – which is, ‘strength in unity’.

Performers through their creativity displayed various aspects such as traditional costumes, dance forms, musical instruments, landmark monuments, folklores etc.
