Fire fighters from the Lagos State Fire Department, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and other security agencies are currently battling to put out a fire that broke out in one of the offices at the FAAN headquarters at Lagos airport.
Due to the location of FAAN headquarters, the situation has led to a traffic snarl that is already spreading to other major roads linking the airport.
The cause of the fire is still unknown as FAAN’s spokesperson, Henrietta Yakubu, said the incident, which affected some offices, said ‘is being investigated right now to find out the cause of the outbreak.
She added that the fire department, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire Department and other security agencies however responded swiftly by curtailing the spread of the fire, as normalcy is being restored already.
The Authority assured travelers, airport users and the general public that the incident did not affect operations at any airport in any way as normal operations continue unhindered.
