The Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc, at the weekend, organized Clients Appreciation Dinner as a way of expressing gratitude to its teeming clients for their loyalty to the services of the company.

 

This is just as the parent company, SIFAX group expressed happiness at SAHCO’s quantum progress, adding that the company will continue on that momentum by all means as SIFAX has resolved to achieve its dreams of impacting the economy positively by creating employment opportunities in Nigeria and Africa, as a whole.

 

The occasion was also used to unveil SIFAX SAHCO Travels, a Travel Management Company (TMC) that offers flight booking, corporate travels, protocol services, holiday packages, ticket reservation, cruises, among others.

 

The TMC has spread its network from Lagos to Abuja, Port-Harcourt and Kano.

 

SAHCO management, through the chairman of SIFAX group, Mr. Taiwo Afolabi, represented by Mr. Chike Ogeah, Vice chairman, SAHCO Plc, also used the occasion to praise its clients, saying ‘without you, we wouldn’t have made this progress’.

 

He urged Nigerians to buy the shares of the company, adding that, ‘everything we are doing is transparent, we are a growing company, what we do is unique but we pray for a stable aviation climate and we call on authorities to start doing things properly’.

 

 

 

Group Managing director of SIFAX Group, Mr. Adekunle Oyinloye, who spoke extensively on plans for the conglomerate in the next five years, said: “We are delighted that SAHCO is doing excellently well as a child of SAIFAX, SIFAX itself started about 32 years ago, we are happy that we are doing so well, we are an African conglomerate based in Nigeria but it is very important for us to re-strategise and move the company forward.

 

“We have about 1,500 employees in SAHCO, we have about 1,000 at the Seaport, we are helping the government to create about 4, 000 direct employment, we are taking a quantum leap-we want to be an African conglomerate that creates value for our services, we are building an African brand, we want to present in five African countries in the five years, both at the Seaports and Airports

 

“We are investing in our personnel, they are the biggest assets we have, so we have a  big dream for the next five years, this is also to tell our clients that the shares are available, we want you to have a share in the benefits that comes with ground handing business in Nigeria”, he said.

 

Meanwhile, managing director of SAHCO, Mr. Basil Agboarumi, pledged, on behalf of the company, to offer clients safe, speedy and excellent services, in accordance with  best practices.

 

He said as a way of ensuring the company delivers on its promises in the last one year, it embarked on various projects aimed at meeting and even exceeding customers’ expectations with the goal of positioning SAHCO as the leading ground handling service provider not only in Nigeria bit in West African sub-region.

 

According to him, in 2019, the company acquired a fleet of ultra-modern Ground Support Equipment, including high loaders, motorized steps, baggage conveyor belt loaders, ground power units, Tow tractors, slave pallets, container pallets and baggage carts, fitted with proximity censors.

 

“In an effort to boost our cargo handling services, we took delivery of cargo scanning machines, ETD machines as well as constructed a state-of-the art cargo transit warehouse for perishable goods, we have expanded the export warehouse facility so we can satisfactorily attend to the needs of our clients while also encouraging export cargo shipment in Nigeria”, he said.

 

Agboarunmi noted that these measures and services being provided, have boosted the confidence of SAHCO’s clients adding that the company plans to offer excellent services to its teeming clients.

 

“In 2020, we plan to sustain the gains of 2019, we are at an advanced stage to procure more equipment fitted with latest technology to meet up with our projected ever expanding clientele, we intend to expand our perishable export warehouse, complete our second commercial building to provide more office space for our clients while we are determined to serve you with a well-trained manpower at all levels.  I use this medium to say thank you for your invaluable and immense support and partnership”, he added.

 

Some clients, who took time to speak one after the other, commended the services of SAHCO, describing it as top-notch.

 

Most of them praised SAHCO for its responsiveness when necessary, adding however that the company could still improve on its services.
